Bakel Cool Eyes likes to make promises. With only 15 ingredients (no preservative, fragrances, or anything like that), it boots to reduce puffy eyes, treat dark circles, improve skin tone, minimise wrinkles, and even act against the effects of gravity. Can it really deliver all that? Mmm… I’ve put it to the test to find out:
What’s In Bakel Cool Eyes?
COCOA SEED BUTTER TO MOISTURISE SKIN
Cocoa butter is a godsend for dry skin. Rich in fatty acids, like oleic and palmitic, it’s super moisturising. It works by creating a protective barrier on the skin that keeps moisture in, so it stays hydrated and supple for longer.
Plus, it has its fair share of antioxidants, like Vitamin E and polyphenols, to fight off free radicals, the nasty buggers that cause wrinkles. Like that weren’t enough, there’s some evidence the polyphenols in cocoa butter increase skin tone and elasticity, too! (Mind you, there isn’t enough here to make much of a difference in this department…).

GLYCERIN TO HYDRATE SKIN
You’ll find glycerin in pretty much every skincare product. There’s a reason for that. Glycerin is a moisture magnet: it draws moisture from the environment into your skin and binds it there. Your skin then uses the extra moisture for all kinds of things. Moisture plumps up skin, so that fine lines and wrinkles look smaller. Skin becomes softer to the touch. And the whole complexion (or eye area in this case), takes on a dewy glow.

The Rest Of The Formula & Ingredients
NOTE: The colours indicate the effectiveness of an ingredient. It is ILLEGAL to put toxic and harmful ingredients in skincare products.
- Green: It’s effective, proven to work, and helps the product do the best possible job for your skin.
- Yellow: There’s not much proof it works (at least, yet).
- Red: What is this doing here?!
- Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Water: A natural astringent and mild anti-inflammatory. Helps tone the skin and reduce irritation.
- Cetearyl Olivate: An emulsifier and skin-conditioning agent derived from olive oil. Helps keep skin hydrated and smooth.
- Sorbitan Olivate: Another olive-derived emulsifier. Conditions skin and supports the lipid barrier.
- Glyceryl Caprylate: Skin-conditioning agent with mild antimicrobial properties. Helps balance and stabilize formulations.
- Albizia Julibrissin Extract (Silk Tree Bark): Contains antioxidants and anti-glycation compounds that protect collagen and support skin’s elasticity.
- Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil: Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Moisturizes, nourishes, and protects against oxidative stress.
- Xanthan Gum: A natural thickener and stabilizer. Gives products a smooth texture and helps them spread evenly.
- Aqua/Water: The base of the formulation, dissolves other ingredients and provides hydration.
- Glyceryl Undecylenate: Functions mainly as a preservative with additional emollient and skin-softening properties.
- Menthol: Provides a cooling sensation that refreshes the skin. It also irritates it.
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E): A strong antioxidant that protects skin from free radical damage and supports barrier function.
- Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (Yeast) Extract: Source of proteins, amino acids, and minerals. Can help condition skin and support repair processes.
- Darutoside (from Siegesbeckia Orientalis): Plant-derived compound with anti-inflammatory and collagen-supporting properties.
Texture
This isn’t a heavy cream that sits there forever. It’s more of a light gel-cream that glides on easily and sinks in fast. The best part? It feels instantly cooling when you put it on, which is exactly what you want under your eyes first thing in the morning.
Fragrance
No worries about perfume here – it’s completely fragrance-free. No flowery smell, no weird “skincare” scent. Just neutral, so it won’t irritate your eyes.
How To Use It
The tube comes with a metal rollerball, so you just click the bottom to push some product out and then roll it around your eyes. Start at the inner corner and work your way out. Do it morning and night. The rollerball gives you that extra cooling massage, which feels amazing when your eyes are tired or puffy. Just don’t go overboard – it can dispense more than you need, so a little really goes a long way. Use the applicator to clean up any excess product.
Packaging
The grey tube comes with a metal rollerball applicator that performs a refreshing and soothing massage on the skin. You just click the bottom once, and small droplets of product appear all around the edge of the ball. But it does release too much product. Every. Single. Time.
Performance & Personal Opinion
I didn’t get much sleep these last couple of weeks, which meant that I always woke up with very puffy eyes. What better time to try Bakel Cool Eyes? I gently massaged the cool roll-applicator on my under-eye area until everything is fully absorbed.
Afterwards, my eyes looked a bit less puffy – a feat that has more to do with the coolness of the applicator than anything in the cream. You could get the same results with two slices of cucumber. Just saying…
The cream also made my skin softer and smoother. This is where Cool Eyes shines. It’s super moisturising. Plus, the extra moisture plumps up my crow’s feet, so they look less noticeable. FYI, ANY moisturiser does this. If your under-eyes area is the same skin type as the rest of your face, simply apply your moisturiser all over and call it a day. That’s what I do.
Instead, it did absolutely nothing for my dark circles, nor it did anything to help against the effects of gravity. But then, I didn’t expect it to. Eye cream can’t do this, yet. One more thing: while I love how refreshing this feels on my skin, I wish it didn’t contain menthol. It can irritate sensitive skin types.

What I Like About Bakel Cool Eyes
- The rollerball feels amazing when your eyes are puffy or tired.
- It’s nice and hydrating, so the skin under my eyes feels softer.
- Extra moisture makes fine lines look less obvious (but only while it’s on).
- No annoying scent.
- Doesn’t feel greasy or heavy.
What I DON’T Like About Bakel Cool Eyes
The whole “de-puffing” thing is mostly the cold rollerball, not the cream.
Zero effect on dark circles (but honestly, no cream really fixes those).
Doesn’t do a thing for sagging.
The menthol is irritating if your skin’s sensitive.
The click dispenser spits out too much product if you’re not careful.
Who Should Use It?
- If your eyes get puffy in the mornings, this feels refreshing.
- If you like the ritual of eye cream and want extra hydration under your eyes.
- Skip it if you’re hoping for a fix for dark circles, bags, or sagging – you’ll be disappointed.
- Also skip it if your under-eyes aren’t dry – just use your normal face cream there instead.
